The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) said on Sunday that exceptional private-sector instructors in Dubai will be eligible to apply for a Dubai Golden Visa starting on October 15, 2024.
This program, introduced on October 5, honors outstanding educators in the private education sector who have shown quality, creativity, and a strong dedication to using education to shape Dubai’s future.
Teachers employed by private schools, international higher education institutions, and early childhood centers will be eligible for these long-term residence visas. The Dubai Golden Visa reflects the emirate’s commitment to developing talent, investing in human capital, and honoring educators who motivate and empower the next generation.
Teachers working in preschools, schools, and universities may qualify for the Dubai Golden Visa if they meet the following requirements:
- Exhibiting outstanding academic performance and creative educational initiatives.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in improving their institutions’ educational standards.
- Generating favorable effects and acknowledgment from the larger educational community.
- Shown contributions to raising student achievement, such as advancement in the classroom and obtaining recognized credentials.
Who Is Eligible To Apply?
- Leaders and principals of schools
- Managers of early childhood centers
- Heads of academic departments at postsecondary educational institutions
- Instructors (from ECCs and schools)
- Higher education institutions’ senior administrative heads and full-time faculty.
The eligibility requirements for ECC managers, principals, and academic heads of postsecondary educational institutions are as follows.
Requirements (for HEI only): Must possess a professional doctorate, master’s degree, or advanced degree, or equivalent professional credentials, such as a CPA or professional fellowships.
DSIB rating (exclusively for principals):
- Must have raised the school’s annual inspection rating from the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau to Good or higher.
- Must have kept this rating the same or raised it even more.
Research contribution (For HEI only): Evidence of research contributions, such as published research in respectable journals, research funds and collaborations, consultation reports, or creative work/exhibitions, must be presented (for HEI only).
Student success: Needs clear proof of better student outcomes, such as graduation and academic advancement.
Impact of Leadership and Feedback: The principal’s leadership and the general school climate have received positive feedback from students, parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
Acknowledgment and Honors: Teachers must have won a distinguished education award for the criteria listed below:
- In the yearly inspections conducted by the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau, the school’s rating must have been raised to good or better.
- Ratings that were maintained or even raised
- Appreciation via scholarships, grants, or contests
Assistance to important student groups: Show observable, quantifiable progress in:
- The school’s board of governors must formally nominate someone, stating their outstanding leadership and providing particular justifications.

Qualifications for Faculty and Instructors
The Dubai Golden Visa is available to faculty members of higher education institutions and teachers in schools and nurseries who meet the following requirements:

Excellence in the workplace: The following must be supplied by the instructor:
- Principal nomination endorsed and approved by the board of governors
- Proof that students performed well on internal and external tests and assessments
- Positive comments expressing pleasure with their teaching performance have been received from parents, students, and school administration.
Higher Education Institutions’ Faculty are Required to Supply:
Proof of research contributions can take the form of consultation reports, research funds and collaborations, published research in respectable journals, or creative work or exhibits.
Assistance to important student groups: The following must be shown by the instructor:
- Proven effectiveness in raising Emirati pupils’ academic achievement
- Proven effectiveness in fostering the social and intellectual growth of resolute students
Acknowledgment and Honors: Must have won one of the following educational honors:
- An honor for national education (such as the Hamdan Award or something comparable) or
- An honor related to worldwide education, such as the Global Teacher Prize
- Appreciation via scholarships, grants, or contests
Community Service: Must have implemented social or educational programs that have benefited the school community or the larger community.
Procedure for Applications
HEIs, ECCs, and schools may designate qualified employees who fit the aforementioned requirements.

Candidates need to send in:
- Principals’ KHDA school grading reports
- Give out certificates
- Findings from surveys and student and parent testimonials
- Testimonials from staff members (for academic heads, ECC managers, and principals)
- Proof of community involvement
- Evidence of better student results
- Board of Governors recommendation and nomination letters
Review Procedure
A special committee will review the applications.
- KHDA will receive committee recommendations.
- KHDA will examine and work with the appropriate authorities.
- The successful completion of their application will be sent to the qualified educators.
