Pausing Dependent Visa in Dubai: A Guide for Job Switchers

Dependent Visa

If you’re changing jobs and your dependents have at least three months left on their current visas, you can simply put your dependents visa on hold while your new one is approved

Obtaining a company-sponsored visa to change jobs in Dubai is frequently simple, requiring little effort on the part of the applicant.

However, to guarantee that the whole family can remain in the city together, those who are sponsoring dependents frequently devote a significant amount of money and time. It may appear impossible to revoke and reissue a dependent visa in certain situations.

The good news is that you do not need to cancel and reissue your dependent visa if you are changing jobs and their visas are still valid for at least three months. To avoid having your visa revoked, all you need to do is put theirs on pause.

Everything you need to know to halt the visas of your dependents is listed below:

Records

The following paperwork is required to suspend the visas of your dependents:

  1. Original Emirates ID of the sponsor
  2. A copy of the sponsor’s passport
  3. A copy of the applicant’s visa
  4. A copy of the dependents’ passport
  5. Offer letter with profession and remuneration from the new employer
  6. Sponsor’s bank account’s IBAN
  7. Form for cancellation

Conditions

Throughout the process, bear the following in mind:

  1. After the hold date, the holding period cannot last longer than sixty days.
  2. The visas of the dependents must remain valid for a minimum of three months.

Additionally, when their visas are suspended, the dependents should remain in the nation.

Costs

In addition to the fees, a deposit needs to be made. An Amer Customer Care representative stated that the holding cost is Dh300 for one dependent and Dh100 more for each additional dependent.

For as long as the visas are on hold, a total of Dh5,000 (for up to five dependents) must be deposited.
