UAE Visa Amnesty: 88% of The Violators Applied Through Amnesty, Choose To Stay In The Country

UAE Visa Amnesty: 88% of Violators Choose to Stay

According to the new UAE visa amnesty scheme, it was made clear that the violators can either use the opportunity to renew their visa without penalties or those who wish to leave the country can do so without any ban, legal penalties, or fines.

As per the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), 88% of visa violators who applied to change their status within the first week of the amnesty campaign have opted to stay in the nation.

The Authority’s Director General, Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, emphasized the initiative’s function in giving violators a chance to alter their situation without leaving the United Arab Emirates. Just 12% of applicants have chosen to leave the nation, indicating they are keen to remain and find employment in the United Arab Emirates.

In the first week of the amnesty, around 20,000 applications were submitted to Dubai. The scheme’s primary benefit, the top official emphasized, is letting violators leave the country without facing any penalties, taxes, or prohibitions.

Once unlawful foreigners take advantage of the amnesty, they are free to live and work in the nation without facing any administrative obstacles, demonstrating the UAE’s dedication to upholding human rights.

Additionally, the government emphasized that during the grace period, violators may request six primary services:

  • Granting an exit permit
  • Renewing residency visa
  • Granting citizenship to a foreign national born in the nation
  • Granting a fresh work or residence visa
  • Changing a valid visa’s status
  • Granting resident permits to those who have violated their employment and residency visas

Amer centers, GDRFA Al Awir centers, ICP centers, ICP internet channels, and authorized typing centers are the routes via which violators can request amnesty.
