The UAE visa amnesty program does not apply to people who are subject to criminal deportation orders, according to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security.
Only those who are in the UAE are covered by the current two-month visa amnesty program; absconders or violators who left the nation before the amnesty began on September 1 are not covered, as the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) emphasized in an advisory on Tuesday.
ICP noted that the amnesty proposal does not extend to anyone subject to criminal deportation orders. “These cases need to be settled through legal channels before applying for any benefits or exemptions,” ICP continued.
The amnesty initiative will expire on October 31 of this year. The director-general of the ICP, Maj-Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, emphasized that those who had violated the law should seize this chance to rectify their situation and that “the visa amnesty provides a unique chance to resolve legal issues, secure employment, or depart the UAE without facing additional penalties.”
Al Khaili stated that a birth certificate and a current passport or return document are needed to determine a child’s status during the amnesty period.
When departing the United Arab Emirates, Al Khaili emphasized that a valid passport or travel document is required to get a departure permit.
He suggested that travel tickets be purchased only after obtaining the departure authorization to guarantee a smooth departure. Those who take advantage of the amnesty will not be prohibited from entering again.
