On September 1, the UAE’s two-month amnesty program will begin. Indian nationals can depart or get permanent resident status. Passports with limited validity and emergency certifications can be obtained through BLS facilities and the Consulate General of India.
How To Utilize The UAE Amnesty Scheme?
The guidelines for utilizing the amnesty program have been released by the Consulate General of India (CGI). The guidelines for the UAE visa amnesty scheme are as follows:
- Applications for emergency certificates are available for individuals who want to return to India, while applications for short-term passports are available for those who want to regularize their residency status.
- Applicants can obtain a free emergency certificate at the Consulate by requesting one on a gratis basis. The Awir Immigration Center in Dubai and the Consulate General of India in Dubai will both have facilitation desks set up. According to the CGI statement, the Consulate’s Facilitation Counters will open on September 2, 2024, and operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- After applying, candidates can pick up the emergency certificates from the Indian Consulate General in Dubai between 2 and 4 p.m. the following day.
- To apply for a passport with a short validity, candidates can visit any BLS center located in Dubai or the Northern Emirates. There is no need to make an appointment in advance. You can find information about BLS Centers at https://www.cgidubai.gov.in/page/passport-services/.
- During the amnesty period, BLS Centers in Dubai and the Northern Emirates will be open on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate candidates who wish to take advantage of the UAE amnesty plan.
Furthermore, the statement stated that applicants may reach out to mobile number 050-9433111 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for any information regarding the processes involved in issuing travel papers. It further stated that they can get advice from contact points in the Indian Community Association and the PBSK helpline at 800-46342(24/7).
